Dry, flaky skin, redness... The cold can be the cause of all these things, so it is very important that you take care of your skin, not only in summer but throughout the year. Here are a series of guidelines that I consider key to having 10 skin this winter:

Hydrate

The skin is the largest organ in the body and needs a significant supply of fluid to stay hydrated. Make sure you drink water, infusions, broths, soups and natural juices (without added sugar). When we stay properly hydrated, we facilitate the elimination of toxins from the body and prevent them from being eliminated through the skin (as would be the case of pimples, for example).

Eat healthy

Eat real food (not processed, refined, soft drinks, etc.). Try to eat a varied diet, with plenty of fruits, vegetables and good fats. The trick is to take a variety of colors to ensure the contribution of all types of vitamins, antioxidants, minerals and phytonutrients. Avoid alcohol, tobacco and coffee, as they greatly dehydrate you. Vitamin C is especially useful for fighting free radicals and promoting collagen production. Take ORGANIC ACAI, goji berries, citrus fruits, red fruits, red pepper, broccoli, etc.

Fats help maintain the hydrolipid film of our skin, which keeps it hydrated and soft. Flaky, dry skin can be a sign of a deficit of good fats. Omega 3 fatty acids are particularly beneficial, and the type of fat we tend to be most lacking in. Take chia seeds, hemp seeds, flax seeds, walnuts and oily fish.

Be careful with the creams

The skin is a delicate organ, and today it is constantly exposed to pollution, sudden changes in temperature, etc. Therefore, it is important to take care of it with natural and organic products as much as possible, since it absorbs everything we apply. Many conventional cosmetic products are full of synthetic ingredients of little benefit. Try using coconut oil to hydrate your body, apply natural masks, and don't overuse makeup so that your skin "breathes." You can learn how to do some of them by reading this article.
