5 CLAVES PARA TENER UN PELO BONITO

5 keys to have a pretty hair

for Baia Food en May 04, 2017

Beautiful hair is undoubtedly a sign of good health and vitality. Hair is primarily composed of keratin, a protein also found in nails. Hair follicles are very sensitive to stress and a poor diet. If the follicle doesn't receive the necessary nutrients, hair takes longer to grow, becomes dry, brittle, and more prone to falling out.

If you control your stress levels and follow a diet rich in certain minerals and vitamins that nourish your hair from within, you'll soon notice stronger, shinier hair.

And what should we take?

PROTEIN

Hair is made up of 90% protein, so get good sources of this macronutrient. If you're vegan, opt for sunflower seeds. ORGANIC HEMP, nuts, legumes, and fermented soy (tempeh, seitan). For those who consume animal protein, it's preferable to consume good sources of this macronutrient (organic eggs, meats and dairy products, as well as fish and seafood).

SILICON

This mineral prevents baldness due to its hair-growth-stimulating effect. It's found in strawberries, peppers, cucumbers, oats, sprouts, and asparagus. It's preferable to consume organic foods, as fertilizers and pesticides from conventional crops can reduce the silicon content of these foods.

COPPER AND ZINC

For stronger, more intensely colored hair, we need a good supply of copper. Zinc promotes the production of new cells and the maintenance of the scalp's sebaceous glands. These two minerals should be consumed together, as the balance between them is crucial: too much zinc interferes with copper absorption, and too much copper can be toxic. Black sesame seeds, of ORGANIC CHIA and garlic provides them in an optimal way.

Vitamins C and B

We need vitamin C for collagen synthesis and iron absorption, another key mineral for its role in transporting oxygen in the blood. Citrus fruits, red fruits, and dark green leafy vegetables are good sources of vitamin C. Biotin or vitamin B7, very present in ORGANIC ACAI, Eggs, peas and nuts promote hair growth and thickness.

SULFUR

Also known as the beauty mineral, sulfur improves circulation, reduces skin inflammation, and promotes hair growth. It's found primarily in legumes, garlic, onions, leeks, cabbage, kelp, and cashews, as well as in all sources of animal protein.
