Obviously, it's better to eat a little of everything than a lot of one thing. If you decide to try green juices and smoothies, it's important not to always use the same vegetables to ensure nutritional diversity and vitamin balance.
If you really like spinach, try swapping it for kale occasionally, as it contains more calcium, iron, and protein than kale.
When you vary, you prevent nutrient imbalances and toxicity from occurring. All leaves have tiny defense mechanisms to protect themselves from insects and other harmful organisms. Spinach, for example, contains oxalic acid, which can harm the kidneys and inhibit calcium absorption.
This doesn't mean you should stop taking them, as they are an excellent source of magnesium and iron, but it is advisable to use and vary the following ingredients:
Kale
It is a source of vitamins A, C, K, calcium and magnesium. It is a of the most complete vegetables and It contains very little fat, a significant portion of which is omega-3 fatty acids. It also has very few calories, making it one of the most nutrient-dense foods.
Broccoli and Brussels sprouts
Rich in vitamins A and C, potassium, and tons of fiber, they're perfect for cleansing the liver. Being rich in vitamin C and containing iron, they're excellent for preventing or improving cases of iron deficiency anemia. They're high in insoluble fiber, so if you eat them, you'll feel satiated and you
Cucumber
Its high water content helps us stay hydrated and prevents us from mistaking dehydration for hunger. This happens very often, so by including foods like cucumber, which fill us up and satiate us, in our diet, we'll avoid those snacking between meals that ruin all our good intentions.
Spinach
They contain antioxidants (beta carotenes), perfect for the skin and fighting free radicals. They are diuretics, prevent constipation, improve arthritis symptoms, and contain a wealth of minerals such as zinc, manganese, and others.
Avocado
In addition to being a source of monounsaturated fats, ideal for cardiovascular health, they contain folic acid, vitamins E, C, potassium and B6. They give smoothies a delicious creamy texture and are very filling, so
Superfoods
Organic Spirulina (source of B12 and protein), Organic Matcha tea, Wheatgrass, Barley grass, etc. They detoxify by removing heavy metals from the blood and are very rich in chlorophyll. However, I recommend that they always be 100% organic, like those from Baïa Food Co.
