Incredible contribution of nutrients and very few calories
For every 28 grams (approximately two tablespoons) they have: 11 grams of fiber, 4 grams of protein, 9 grams of fat (of which 5 are omega 3), 18% of the recommended daily amount of calcium, 30% of manganese, 30% magnesium and 27% phosphorus. And only 127 calories.
Most of your carbohydrates are fiber
Fiber is not digested and does not increase blood sugar so insulin is not required to process it. ORGANIC CHIA seeds absorb up to 12 times their weight in water, forming a gel that cleans the intestinal walls, and therefore fights against bloating and constipation. In addition, fiber fills us up, keeps us satiated for longer and “feeds” the intestinal flora.
They are rich in proteins
For each 28 gram serving they contain 14% protein, which makes them a very good plant-based protein source.
They contain 18 of the 22 amino acids that make up proteins, and the 9 essential amino acids (those that the body cannot synthesize on its own and we must take in through the diet). The 9 essential amino acids are: histidine, isoleucine, leucine, lysine, methionine, phenylalanine, threonine, tryptophan and valine.
They are easy to incorporate into your diet
You can prepare ORGANIC CHIA seed water in the following way:
- Dilute the juice of half a lemon or half a lime and a tablespoon of chia seeds in a large glass of water (optional: add stevia if you need to sweeten). You leave the mixture in the refrigerator for an hour and you have ready an ideal drink to satisfy you between meals and prevent you from snacking on unhealthy things.
- You can add them to salads and smoothies and they will considerably increase their nutritional value while providing very few calories.
- Or go for the traditional Chia Pudding, but now in summer you can freeze it in popsicle molds and eat it in ice cream format. It is delicious!!
